The low-income group

To qualify for the GBIS in this group, you have to receive at least one of the following benefits:

The general group

To qualify for this group, your property must:

Have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D to G
Be within council tax bands A to D in England, OR
A to E in Scotland and Wales

Local authority help

If you don’t fit into either of the above groups, it is possible for your local authority to contact your energy supplier on your behalf to gain support from the GBIS. This is handled by your local authority on a case-by-case basis.
